Fitter/Turner and Fabricators

This position is available for immediate start!

Cook and Galloway General Engineers (established 1959) is a privately owned general engineering and steel product manufacturing company, based in Hamilton. We supply both the greater Waikato area and Nationwide destinations with an extensive range of quality steel products and fabrication services.

We are currently looking for a Fitter/Turner to work in our busy workshop,
Monday to Friday 7.00 am – 3.30 pm.

Our successful candidate will have the following:
•Mechanically minded with excellent turning and fitting or fabrication skills

•Proven Fitter/Turner skills with a solid work history
•Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
•Ability to read and understand drawings
•Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
•Strong attention to detail
•Ability to listen and learn new skills
•Clean drivers licence is essential

Some of the technical skills we would value are:
•Confident, quick and precise Machining using materials that could be sheet steel, plate, stainless and alloy (MIG skills would also be desirable)
•Rolling, folding, guillotining and fabrication experience
•Confident, quick and precise welding with Mig using materials that could be sheet steel, plate, stainless and alloy.

You will be somebody who thrives in a team environment, and understands the importance of team work. You will have an organised work approach that enables you to excel in this busy role.
